Nestled in the picturesque Mkhuzane Valley of South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal Midlands rests Seafield Farm. Our unique climate and fertile soils create a rich terroir producing premier quality sugarcane, used exclusively in Sugar Baron Single Estate Rum.
We follow the traditional Agricole style for producing our handcrafted rum. The essence of freshly harvested, hand-cut sugarcane is extracted, fermented, distilled and bottled on-site at our distillery to create only the finest product. Every batch of Sugar Baron rum is produced with the utmost attention to detail.
Our initial offering is our Sugar Baron Signature Craft White Rum, which is made in the Agricole style and aged in glass demijohns before bottling. The result is an integrated flavour profile that is bold and punchy; the freshly cut sugar cane hits you on the nose as you settle into the floral flavours. A pleasant, vegetal voice pervades but the only real word for this profile is FUNK. The funk is essential, tangy and bold on the palate. The smooth, rounded warmth leaves you always wanting more.
