Product Description
The name “Klippe Kou” translates from Afrikaans as “chewing rocks” or, figuratively, “enduring hardship” – a nod to the rocky soils in which the best Syrah vines on Joostenberg Estate are planted. While the vines struggle at first, these challenging conditions ultimately yield grapes with intense flavour and wine with strong character.
This Syrah reveals a complex nose of stewed plums, raspberries and gentle smokiness, with a touch of earthiness. The palate is medium-bodied and savoury, with a distinctive chalky finish.
